Alaskan fishing season comes to a close in September.

September Brings the Closing of Fishing Season, But the Fun Doesn’t End!

Tytanium Ideas Gustavus, Salmon

September is always bitter sweet for our crew here in Gustavus, AK. Summer means the end of warm days and water activities. We hate when the season comes to an end, but we love that it means another season is just around the corner!

Great Catches!

One of the best things about Fall is how slow the fishing competition becomes. The fishing season is coming to an end so tourists begin trickling out of the area.

Gustavus, Alaska has some of the best fishing in the world. With the protected calm waters in Icy Strait, the area is abundant in marine life. From salmon to halibut, the waters are plentiful with fish. Our fishing tours are the best way to catch these delectable fish! The Northern Lights are Coming

As sad as the end of the fishing season is, there is a highlight to it that comes in the form of light (or lack of)! With the changing of the seasons comes long, dark days in Alaska where the sun comes out for only a few hours at a time. A good thing that comes out of this is the Aurora Borealis! Commonly referred to as the Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis begin to make appearances in late August through mid April. These are a phenomenal sight and a must see.

If you’re lucky, you may even see them on one of our last fishing tours of the season!
